Arriving by Plane 

Ilhéus has its own airport and national airlines have several connecting flights per day to the major international hubs including São Paolo, Rio de Janeiro and Salvador de Bahia.

The national arirlines of Brazil are:

- TAM
- GOL

If you are travelling from Europe we recommend the following routes:
- Swiss via Zürich (Switzerland) to São Paulo
- TAM via Paris (France) to São Paulo
- Varig/Lufthansa via Frankfurt (Germany) to São Paulo
- TAP via Lisbon (Portugal) to Salvador or São Paulo
- Varig via Milan (Italy) to Salvador or São Paulo

Citizens of central European countries require a passport valid for at least 6 months after their return. A visa is not required.
